Hans serves as the Council’s Lead for Digital Government, where he is working to make county government smarter and services more efficient, and he serves on the Planning, Housing, and Economic Development Committee as well as the Government Operations & Fiscal Policy Committee. Keynote by Greg Billing from WABA
Greg Billing

Greg Billing is the Executive Director for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, a regional advocacy and education non-profit membership organization in the Washington, D.C. area. Greg has been with the organization for more than six years, most recently as the organization's Advocacy Coordinator. During his tenure, Greg led WABA’s transition to “bicycling for all” advocacy, which focuses on inclusive, comfortable and safe infrastructure and public policies to support growing ridership. Prior to WABA, Greg has worked in marketing for Cornell Outdoor Education and Finger Lakes ReUse in upstate New York and as an wilderness instructor with Outward Bound in Minnesota, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Greg holds Bachelors of Science in Communication from Cornell University with concentrations in technology and sustainability.

Al Roshdieh


Al R. Roshdieh, director of the Department of Transportation (MCDOT), has, through his more than 27 years of service with Montgomery County, acquired a wealth of experience in developing and implementing transportation and public works policies and projects. He has served as Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Chief of the Division of Operations, Chief of the Division of Facilities and Services, and Chief of the Facilities Maintenance and Operations Section. Mr. Roshdieh is a proven leader who has reinvigorated MCDOT with a renewed vision, mission and guiding principles to meet the County’s transportation challenges with creativity, innovation and a balanced multi-modal approach.

Bicycle Master Plan Update by Dave Anspacher of MNCPPC. Q&A
Dave Anspacher

David Anspacher is a Transportation Planner with the Montgomery County Planning Department and is the Project Manager for the County’s Bicycle Master Plan. Mr. Anspacher has worked extensively on the Purple Line and bus rapid transit planning. He has a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
